Lunar Planning for Interior Design: Waxing Crescent

Happy Taco Tuesday!

I’m back with the next post in our Lunar Planning series and this time it’s all about the waxing crescent phase. If you’re just jumping in check out this post where I introduced you to Lunar Planning for Interior Design.

The waxing crescent phase of the lunar cycle is the first phase in the ascent to full moon, when a small sliver of the moon becomes illuminated. In the world of Woo Woo this is a time to take action and begin your journey. In Interior Design we can use this phase to get started shopping and prepping for our project.

Now that you’re clear on the energy of this phase let’s get into the real work.

Create Your To Do List: Last week we decided what project to tackle and this week we’ll be getting organized and taking action to bring it to life. This is another Yin energy activity and you know what to do, get relaxed and let the ideas come to you. I suggest sitting in the space with a pen and notebook and start making your list. Look around the space and identify everything that needs to be cleaned, removed, organized, purchased and fixed. Don’t edit anything. Treat this as a stream of consciousness exercise and free write everything that comes to mind in the space you can edit the list later.

Start Shopping: Let the fun begin! It’s time to review the To Do list you created, identify any new items you need to buy and lean into your Yang energy and get shopping! But wait there’s more…you also want to use this time to schedule any contractors or cleaners, or to organize a pick-up for any large items you plan to donate or get rid of.

Create a Ritual: This week I want you to clear your schedule for 3 hours. Start with a 1 hour brainstorming session to create your To Do list and follow that with another 1/2 hour to schedule any help you need which leaves you with 1.5 hours to shop online for new items. Remember to set the scene by playing good music, lighting candles and having your favorite beverage and snacks to make the process even more enjoyable.

I’ll be back with more next week!
